Garages, Shops & Covers

Garage & Shop Builder in Wenatchee, WA

Detached garages, shops, RV covers and outbuildings built from foundation prep through finished interior, sized around the vehicles and projects that actually need to fit.

Buildings sized for how you really use them

Most garage regret comes down to a few inches. The door was not tall enough for the truck with a rack, the bay was not deep enough for the boat trailer, or there was no room left to open a door once two vehicles were parked. We start by measuring what has to fit, now and realistically in five years, then plan door widths and heights, bay depths, ceiling height for a lift or loft, and workbench and shelving walls around it.

From there we handle the whole build: site layout and excavation, gravel and drainage, monolithic or stem-wall slab, stick-framed or post-frame structure, trussed or stick-framed roof, metal or composition roofing, siding and trim detailed to match your house, gutters, windows, service doors and overhead doors. Detached garages, shops, barns, storage buildings, carports and RV covers are all in scope, including buildings that combine a covered parking bay with a deck or breezeway to the house.

Where a lot is tight or a slope makes access difficult, planning matters even more. We look at driveway approach, turning radius, snow shedding, where water goes in a spring thaw, and how the building sits relative to setbacks and neighbors before anything is poured.

Permits, structure and a finish level you choose

Detached garages and shops require permits, setback and lot coverage review, and inspections in Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, and Chelan and Douglas counties. We design to permit-ready plans, size framing and hardware for local snow and wind loads, and coordinate inspections from footing through final so the building is properly documented for insurance and resale.

You decide the finish level. Some clients want a weather-tight shell they can finish themselves over a few winters. Others want the whole thing done: insulation, drywall and paint, sealed or epoxy slab, LED lighting, 240-volt circuits for tools or an EV, heat, a loft, shelving and a real workbench. We coordinate electrical, plumbing and mechanical subs so rough-ins land in the right places before walls close up.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

How long does it take to build a detached garage or shop?

A standard two-car detached garage generally takes six to twelve weeks on site, including site prep, foundation and cure time, framing, roofing, siding and doors. Adding a finished interior, heat, plumbing or a second story extends that. Design and permitting usually add four to eight weeks before ground breaks.

Do I need a permit for a garage or shop?

Yes. Detached garages and shops require a building permit in Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, and Chelan and Douglas counties, along with setback, lot coverage and height review, and often a separate electrical permit. We build to permit-ready plans and coordinate inspections through final.

What construction options are available?

Stick-framed or post-frame construction on a monolithic or stem-wall slab, trussed or stick-framed roofs, metal or composition roofing, siding and trim matched to your house, insulated or uninsulated shells, and overhead door sizes and heights specified for trucks, boats or an RV.

Can you finish the interior too?

Yes. We can hand off a weather-tight shell or carry it through insulation, drywall, paint, epoxy or sealed slab finishes, shelving, workbenches, lofts and rough-in coordination with electrical, plumbing and heating subs so the building is ready to use.

What areas do you build in?

Throughout Chelan and Douglas counties, including Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Cashmere, Monitor, Leavenworth, Entiat, Malaga, Rock Island and Lake Chelan.
